Today I had a new client who came to me for Hypnotherapy to Stop Smoking (this is not unusual as I help people to give up smoking every week). What I found very satisfying was that she had been referred to me by another mother who I had done Smoking Cessation Hypnotherapy with over 7 years ago.
In my stop smoking hypnotherapy sessions I explain to the client what hypnotherapy is and how it works. That they remain in complete control of themselves, are able to remember the session, that I offer them a free booster session if they ever require it and that they must still use their own will power and determination to stop smoking.
When I am helping my clients to stop smoking I always go through the benefits of being a non-smoker what they will feel and experience:
20 Minutes after you last cigarette: Your pulse and blood pressure returns to normal. Circulation improves – especially in your hands and feet.
8 Hours after your last cigarette: Your blood oxygen levels return to normal and your chance of having a heart attack falls.
24 Hours after your last cigarette: Carbon monoxide leaves your body. Your lungs start to clear out mucus and debris.
48 Hours after your last cigarette: Congratulations your body is now nicotine free. Your sense of taste and smell will improve.
72 Hours after your last cigarette: Your breathing is easier. You have more energy.
2-12 Weeks after your last cigarette: Circulation is now improved throughout your body. It’s easier for you to walk and exercise now.
3-9 Months after your last cigarette: Your lung efficiency is up by 5-10 per cent. Breathing problems are fading away. Say goodbye to coughing, shortness of breath and wheezing.
5 Years after your last cigarette: You now have only half the chance of getting a heart attack compared to a smoker.
10 Years after your last cigarette: The chance of you getting lung cancer is now half that of a smoker. Your chance of having a heart attack is now the same as someone who’s never smoked. NHS.UK
I have been helping people to stop smoking with hypnotherapy since September 2007 and the thought that some of my clients have stopped smoking for 7 years, 10 years or even 12 years is amazing, incredibly satisfying and rewarding to me.
If you want to stop smoking then hypnotherapy can really help you. I stopped smoking with the help of hypnotherapy over 30 years ago.
