It’s getting harder to have a happy childhood a report by Action for Children released in July 2019 says. Stating that bullying, GCSE exam pressure and social media is having a negative impact on childhood in the UK. As a Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness Therapist I have noticed a huge increase in the number of children and young adults aged between 8 and 18 that I work with.
Children these days are under so much pressure from parents, society, social media, bullies and trolls, to be perfect, pretty, smart and popular, to pass all their exams and to get a high paid job. They are also under a huge amount of peer pressure to smoke, drink, use drugs, act out and have sex. It is no surprise that many use the latter to escape the former.
We work with children and young adults to manage and resolve depression, anxiety be it social anxiety, exam anxiety, peer pressure or specific or general anxiety, who self-harm and cut, are struggling with school or anything else.
