Adrian Sonnex, Your Hypnotherapist & Mindfulness Therapist
I was born in 1968, in Carshalton, Surrey and have always been interested in how people work and in working with people. I had a twenty year career in care work working with adults with physical and learning disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behavior before becoming a full-time professional Hypnotherapist in September 2007. Whilst I was working in care work I worked with Clinical Psychologists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and other therapists which inspired me to become a therapist myself. I completed an Introduction to Counselling course and a Certificate in Counselling and Counselling Skills at Birkbeck College, University of London (covering Person Centered and Psycho-dynamic counselling). I then did a foundation course in Hypnotherapy before passing my Professional Course, Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis, DCH in September 2007. I was awarded my Diploma in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapies in December 2008.
I respect and appreciate all people irrespective of age, ethnicity, gender, disability, religion, sexuality or their forms of relationships and lifestyle choices including gay, lesbian, bisexual, transexual, transgender, asexual, agender, polyamorous, pansexual, pangender or belonging to the BDSM, Kink or Fetish communities. Adrian Sonnex Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Master Clinical Hypnotherapist is a registered therapist on PINKTHERAPY a gender sex & relationship diversities website to find therapists.
Adrian Sonnex, Your Hypnotherapist
I used Hypnotherapy to help me to successfully stop smoking over 30 years ago and decided to consider becoming a hypnotherapist because of this. I have been a full-time qualified hypnotherapist since 2007 and I still love helping people to stop smoking, manage their anxiety, stress, depression and resolve their phobias, traumas, relationship and sexual problems, IBS symptoms, addictions and so many more difficulties.
Adrian Sonnex, Your Mindfulness Therapist
I first discovered Mindfulness when I learned about Traumatic Incident Reduction TIR (for trauma, phobias and fears) as part of my Professional Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis in 2007. I started my Diploma in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapies MCBT whilst completing my Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis. Why choose Wellbeing Hypnotherapy & Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is becoming ever more popular because it can be run as a group course. It is self-regulated at present which means that you can read a book, complete a 5 hour online mindfulness teacher training course and call yourself a Mindfulness Teacher.
Mindfulness-based therapies are not like teaching Mathematics, you can’t learn the theories and rules then teach them to others you must continually practice them yourself developing your personal understanding and experience of Mindfulness. As a Mindfulness therapist and teacher I share my experience and understanding of Mindfulness-based Therapies with my clients.
Aa Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapist I meditate using the Body Scan or Sitting Meditation every day. I also do my Mindful movement or walking meditation every day as well and eat and drink mindfully. I see clients Mindfully and spend moments between clients, with family and friends Mindfully.
Adrian Sonnex is registered by the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) which was established with Government support to regulate complementary therapies. The key purpose of the CNHC is to protect the public from unprofessional, badly trained or unethical therapists. The Department of Health recommends where the therapy is registered with the CNHC you consult with a therapist who is CNCH registered.
Continued Professional Development
On Completing my Professional Course (Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis) I have continued my ongoing professional development by having regular supervision and continued training including hypnotherapy master classes, Traumatic Incident Reduction and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapies.
